Own your tractor. Run under Ramar.
Team and single owner-operators wanted. 70% line-haul rate with 100% fuel surcharge passthrough on every load. Operate under Ramar's MC authority — we bring the freight, the dispatch, and the regulatory umbrella; you bring the tractor and the driving.
The structure
Ramar contracts with both team and single owner-operators who want to run on real freight under a real operator's authority. You own your tractor; we cover the rest — the customer relationships, the dispatch, the insurance, the regulatory and audit posture, and the integrated chain that puts the freight on your truck without a load-board hunt at 3 a.m.
The freight profile is the same as our company drivers': Class 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 ammunition and explosives for the DOD and prime contractors on the team-driver side; drayage and general-freight lanes on the single-driver side. Same standards, same expectations. The compensation structure — 70% line-haul + 100% fuel surcharge — is identical between team and single operators.
We are deliberate about who joins this network. Class 1 freight carries operational and reputational consequence for our customers; the operators we contract on their behalf carry the same standard.

Start the pre-screenFAQ
Whose MC authority do I operate under?
Ramar's (USDOT 1141064 / MC 300208). The freight runs under our authority, our customer contracts, and our insurance. You bring the tractor and the driving; we bring the freight, the dispatch, and the regulatory umbrella.
How does the 70 / 100 split work?
70% of the line-haul rate paid by the customer on every load you run, plus 100% of the fuel surcharge. No bracket math, no settlement holdbacks, no escrow you can't see.
Team or single — does it matter for compensation?
The 70 / 100 structure is the same for team and single. Team operators run continuous-attendance Class 1 freight that single drivers can't take; that's where the higher-revenue AAE lanes are. Single owner-operators run general-freight and port drayage.
Do owner-operators fill out the same application as company drivers?
Yes. Same pre-screen form. We sort the company-vs-owner-operator decision after we've talked.
What's the difference between Owner-Operator and Carrier Partner?
Owner-operators run under Ramar's authority. Carrier Partners run their own MC authority and join Ramar's brokerage carrier roster. Different intake, different page — see /careers/carriers/.
